CBSA held seminar on Hong Kong consumption and payments trends

On 12 March, 2024, The Chinese Banks’ Association held a seminar on “Hong Kong Consumption and Payments Trends”, featuring Mr. David Mann, the Chief Economist for Asia Pacific & Middle East, Africa of the Mastercard Economics Institute, as the keynote speaker. The seminar received an enthusiastic response, with a full house of attendees including senior industry practitioners from eight member banks, as well as Executive Committee and Management Committee members of the Association.

With over 20 years of experience in economic research, Mr. Mann engaged the audience with a vivid and interactive analysis of the post-pandemic recovery in Hong Kong and other regions, as well as changing consumer behaviour. He also shared his valuable insights on local and global economic prospects and trends. Particularly enlightening were Mastercard’s suggestions for banking professionals on how to meet the future demands on the industry.
