CBSA welcomes and supports the Government’s commencement of public consultation on Basic Law Article 23 legislation

The Chinese Banks’ Association (“CBSA”) welcomes and supports the Government’s commencement of public consultation on Basic Law Article 23 legislation, and encourages its members to actively participate in the public consultation.

CBSA believes that the public consultation will enable various sectors of the community to engage in rational and pragmatic discussions on the legislation, which will enhance the legal framework for safeguarding national security, ensure the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong, and be conducive to the long-term development of the financial markets in Hong Kong.
